Sumo wrestling is probably the oldest wrestling style in history. With origins in ancient times, where it was part of the rituals meant to entertain the Shinto gods, sumo is the national sport of Japan. The basic rules of the game are simple: the sumo fighter who touches the ground with any other part of his body except the soles of his feet loses the game. Also, if one of the wrestlers leaves the ring earlier than his opponent loses the game.
