Hulk Hogan has not only manage to become one of the most loved pro wrestlers all over the world, but he also succeeded in making himself known by all types of audiences. No matter if you like wrestling, adventure films or real-life shows, you certainly know Hogan! He is there where you would less expect him to be, doing all kinds of stuff: from fighting (which remains his specialty) to acting or even … cooking. With such a high exhibition in the media and a great wrestling career spanning over 4 decades, it is no longer a surprise for anyone that there Hulk is one of the most popular wrestlers ever.

But who is Hulk Hogan after all? Hulk Hogan (Terry Gene Bollea – his real name) started his career as a professional wrestler in 1976 at the age if 23. The inception was tough and painful, as Hulk recalls. According to his story his trainer-to-be, Hiro Matsuda, he tested his skills and perseverance by breaking his leg on purpose. Yet, in no more than a year after this “accident” Hogan was ready to compete in wrestling games. And the recognition did not fail to come. The first trophy won by Hogan was NWA Southeast Heavyweight Championship in 1979. He activated in the World Wrestling Federation the next year, then made his entrance in New Japan Pro Wrestling and the American Wrestling Association.

His career spans over four decades: rising in the 70′s, the ‘80s (with great victories over Bob Backlund, Iron Sheik, Cowboy Bob Orton, André the Giant and Nikolai Volkoff), the ‘90s (when he defeated famous wrestlers such as Sgt. Slaughter, The Great Muta and Tatsumi Fujinami) and up to today with appearances at WWE and TNA special events.
